Make Your Madison Avenue Debut in NYC
Henri Bendel is hosting their semi-annual "Open See" this month on the 25th. Their legendary open call to designers has launched the careers of fashion icons such as Anna Sui, Todd Oldham, and Colette Malouf. Categories: Accessories (jewelry, handbags & small leather goods, belts, cold weather accessories, hats, & hair accessories), cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, and gifts.
They suggest you be in line by 12 noon to be seen, although many people line up way before then at the flagship store: 712 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY, 10019.
PinFest and Jewelry Design Inspirations
Each Saturday on our facebook fan page, we have a handmade jewelry designer PinFest! Add your website or Etsy store to the post, and we'll pin it to our board, and use the following hashtags to help your jewelry get found: #handmadejewelry, #buyhandmade, and #supporthandmade.
Each month, we'll also be working on a board for jewelry design inspirations. This month's theme is "Chinoiserie," which is a decorative European style developed in the 17th century that uses Asian influences and motifs. Although some jewelry pictures are included, these design boards are more about bringing together a visual style from which you can "jump off" from and design a jewelry collection based on colors, textures, and visual ideas.
Make sure you bookmark our new visual newsfeed, where our facebook, pinterest, and rss feeds are combined into one visual board for easy reference. The newsfeed is also a responsive design, so it will reconfigure itself no matter what device you use to view it, in either landscape or portrait view. Plus, you have the option of sorting the feed by source, the default is "all" but you can sort by individual social media sites or rss feed as well.
That's it for this month, best of luck with all your fall shows and prep for the coming Holiday Season,
